Max Ronnersjö: Brick-and-mortar paintings

Max Ronnersjö is an artist and art technician living and working in Stockholm. In a series of works on canvas he has collected building materials from different addresses mostly in Stockholm during his job as an art technician and installer, mixing these materials; brick, mortar, concrete and stone with lacquer to create individual monochrome examples of these investigations of construction technology and the infrastructure of art. By recycling by-products from Ronnersjö’s technical work he creates art in a tradition that obliquely recalls the art of the Labour Movement, Land Art and conceptual art.
